We were almost put out on the curb at LAX.
United and Copa attempted to blame one other while communicating through us for
responsibility for our flight to Brazil. Copa argued we had missed the 2hr check in deadline and we were no longer their responsibility, while United asserted we were not their responsibility because of our ability to check in 45 minutes prior for international flights.Ben saved the day by reasoning with Panama's Copa Airline while I ran back and forth to the United desk for some possible way for them to communicate with each other--she finally scribed her phone number on a napkin for me.
And the big airline (United) put its legal weight on the little airline (Copa), who had many problems already with overbooking.
And so we eventually left.
This should be an interesting transit. I venomously wait for the end of our airline debauchery (i.e. our arrival)

Justement je pensais à toi en cette période de fêtes !
Je vois que ton séjour au Brésil se passe plutôt bien ! t'as du beau temps, contrairement à nous lol. Remarque chez nous c'est une habitude le mauvais temps !
J'ai répondu à ta lettre il y a bien deux mois de ça, seulement je l'ai toujours pas envoyée... Je pense pas que ce soit utile pour maintenant !
